GEC Quality policy:
It is the policy of the George Evans Corporation (GEC) to fabricate products that provide a good value to our customers in the metal fabricating industry. It is the intent of GEC to continually improve through modern manufacturing processes, customer input, and internal recommendations.

All manufactured products will meet the expectations of our customers. Our products will be reliably manufactured to the customer’s blueprints and specifications and be consistent with the ISO 9001:2000 International Standards.

Quality is second only to safety. The GEC quality coordinator is Registrars Accreditation Bureau (RAB) certified to teach, audit, and instruct internal auditors to ISO9000/17025 lab accreditation and CQE computerized testing standards. There is a certified metrologist on staff to operate the quality lab and inspection program.

GEC gages are verified through a gage calibration and certification program. They are subject to a continuing system of calibration control.

GEC primary quality equipment includes:

  • FaroArm Silver Series 8 3D measurement, inspection and Reverse Engineering System
  • SlipStick 2-axis measuring machine
  • Mitutoya height gages and calipers.

Each part is reviewed for manufacturing process and critical dimensions. An Initial Sample Warrant Package is developed to establish a Production Part Approval Process; including the ISIR, part specifications, manufacturing control plan, process requirement, manufacturing documentation, equipment, tooling, gages, and all else needed to produce a high quality part.

Capability analysis studies are carried on continuously using ISIR, SPC charts and first and last part inspection data.

Managing quality is accomplished through planning, control, and improvement. Machine operators are empowered to monitor the accuracy of the process. They are responsible for the quality of their work and are authorized to stop production when defects are produced. Internal quality audits validate the effectiveness of our daily practices. Continuing operator education and monthly meetings reinforce our “no defects” and “continual improvement” goals.

GEC Quality Audit:

  • Faro-Arm: 3 Axis Computer Measurement & Inspection of Parts
  • Slip Stick: 2 Axis Measurement & Inspection of Flat Blanks
